Kane..England's Best

Thoughts from the weekend

Kane...England’s best!

Harry Kane is having another astonishing season. Written off by many as a one season wonder (before his second season even started) he has proven that he is unquestionably England’s best striker. It was Harry Kane’s sharp shooting which enabled this rather easy victory and took Spurs to within 5 points of league leaders Leicester.

The England striker has talked about his desire to beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record and on this form who can stop him. Not even a face mask can dent his finishing ability. The Tottenham youth product will prove crucial as the club stives to win its first Premier League title.

United in the CIty

The Manchester derby lacked a little of the spark it should have had. Two sides competing not for the title but for 4th place. It seems unheard of in Manchester. However, the game was brightened up by the emergence of the young Marcus Rashford. He took his goal superbly and may have won a penalty for his side on a different day.

Manchester United needed this win and there season can now focus on the goal of 4th place after a tumultuous week. Manuel Pellegrini has got a job on his hands to even claim Champions League football next season. Could Guardiola be coming into a side not competing at Europe’s elite?

Race for Premier League survival

This was a big weekend for Norwich City. Eleven games without victory ended at the Hawthorns as Irishman Robbie Brady sent the ecstatic Norwich faithful back home smiling (for once). They moved clear of the relegation zone aided by the 1-1 draw between Newcastle and Sunderland. Norwich now face both North East clubs at home in the coming month with likely 2 out of that 3 going down. Although Crystal Palace, with no win since Christmas, must be anxiously looking over their shoulders.
